SIUE PD searches for missing former student

The SIUE police department issued out a missing person alert on their Facebook page for former SIUE student Keaton Bosma Tuesday morning.


Bosma was last seen near Cougar Village on Dec. 21. SIUE Police said to contact them at 650-3324 to report any sightings since Dec. 20.


He is a 6 foot, 1 inch tall white male with brown hair and blue eyes. His last known vehicle was a 1994 tan Toyota with Illinois license plate number BH92255 as of May 2020.


The Belleville News-Democrat reported that SIUE Chief of Police Schmoll said there were two previous reports of Bosma trespassing in the vacant Cougar Village apartments. Police believe he may have entered the apartments in order to seek out shelter.


According to the post, Bosma does not have possession of his identification and may not have possession of medication he is prescribed.


SIUE police said they are working with Bosma's family to seek information about his whereabouts.
