The Cougars played their second home tournament, finishing 13-4 in singles and 8-1 in doubles where they competed against Missouri-St. Louis, Saint Louis and Lindenwood.

"It was a good weekend, we were able to mix and match and move some players around," said Head Coach Adam Alberten. "We were able to kind of rest some of our players higher up in the lineup and push some that would have normally played a little bit lower."

"The exciting thing about Fall season is we see stuff that we can work on, improve and get better as we climb the mountain towards the Spring season," Albertsen said.

"I like how we played in doubles today. I think today was a little bit better, cleaner," Albertsen said. "I think doubles is an area that we're always going to continue to get stronger, and kind of continue just improving overall. Then, I would like for us to finish the day in singles just a little bit sharper."

The Cougars compete next in the ITA Regionals from Oct. 13-17, which will be hosted by Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

"That's a big one," Albertsen said. "That has all the teams from our entire region; all the big, medium and small schools will meet there, and that's a great test to see where you are amongst some of the best in the country. So, we're excited to learn from this tournament and use these next two weeks to get better and prepare for the ITAs."
