Eric Langenwalter has served the School of Dental Medicine for 32 years, and in June, he will be retiring from leading and educating students at the school. SDM offers education for more than 10,000 people annually through community outreach events.

Langenwalter graduated from the school himself in 1985, served as the head of fixed prosthodontics, Restorative Dentistry department chair and Assistant Dean of Information Technology and Projects, as well as led multiple committees.

He also helped create the Student Interactive Learning Progress System and the AxiUm patient Record System that helps to manage around 35,000 patient visits each year, according to a press release sent out by SIUE Marketing.
