After filling the position of Interim Dean since July 2018, Mark Luer has been named Dean of the School of Pharmacy, pending Board of Trustee approval.

According to Benzinga, Luer said he is wanting to advance the School of Pharmacy and help meet the healthcare needs of community members.

“In my new role, I look forward to further advancing our mission as we work to address the unmet healthcare needs of an increasingly complex and changing world. I believe that our students, faculty and staff are strategically positioned to be leaders as we often forge new paths to confront challenges,” Luer told Benzinga.

Under Luer, the School of Pharmacy has been ranked number one in Illinois and Missouri programs for the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination board pass rates. Luer is a professor of pharmacy practice and was previously the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Director of Clinical Programs.
