Political organizations to present constitutions at Senate meeting

Two political organizations are scheduled to petition for recognition as student organizations at Friday's Student Senate meeting.
Youth for International Socialism and United Students Against Sweatshops will both present their constitutions for approval by the Senate. Both constitutions were approved unanimously in prior meetings of the Student Organization Advisory Board.
The Student Art Therapy Association's $425 travel request to attend the American Art Therapy Association National Conference in Albuquerque, N.M., is also on the agenda.
Additionally, the Senate is expected to present its position on the recent plagiarism allegations against Southern Illinois University President Glenn Poshard.
The Sexual Orientation and Transgender Alliance will also petition for a student organization name change.
Economics and finance professor John Navin will be the guest speaker.
The meeting will begin at 2 p.m. Friday in the Morris University Center's Goshen Lounge.
