Freshmen enrollment highest in SIUE history

Up 65 students from last year, the fall semester marks SIUE's largest freshman class in its history.
The new freshman class totals 1,829 students; last year, the class numbered 1,764.
Total enrollment numbers came in at 13,398 students. The number included 649 new graduate students, which is up from the 470 new graduate students enrolled last fall. The number of new graduate students is the highest it has been in five years.
The first enrollment figures for the university in 1957 numbered 1,776 students. In 50 years, enrollment has increased by11,622 students.
