The Chronicle of Higher Education has accused Southern Illinois University president Glenn Poshard of plagiarizing sections of his 1975 master's thesis.

An article published Monday said "the examples are considerably more minor than those found in his dissertation but suggest a similar cut-and-paste methodology."

This accusation comes two weeks after The Daily Egyptian, the Southern Illinois University Carbondale student newspaper, released an article alleging Poshard also plagiarized his 1984 doctoral dissertation.

Mike Ruiz, director of university communications, said Poshard will not comment on these latest plagiarism allegations until after his disseration has been reviewed.

"The accusations are the same accusations that the Daily Egyptian made about the dissertation," Ruiz said. "The president won't comment until the review of the dissertation has been completed."
