Oduwole released from Madison County Jail
Issue date: 7/25/07 Section: News
SIUE student Olutosin O. Oduwole has been released from custody.
Oduwole was arrested Friday, July 20, on felony charges of theft over $300 and computer fraud. The Madison County State's Attorney later charged Oduwole with misdemeanor unauthorized possession of a weapon on state property and alleged attempt to make a terrorist threat, a felony charge. He was held on $1.1 million bond.
The charges stemmed from an incident involving a note found in his vehicle, which had been abandoned on North University Drive. According to police, rap lyrics and an apparent threat to a university were included in the handwritten note.
Oduwole was released at 10:55 a.m. Wednesday from the Madison County Jail, according to a university press release. He has been ordered to remain at least 1,500 feet away from the SIUE campus.

I'm just wondering how in the world this guy posted bail??? I know that you only have to actually put up 10% to get out, but still, that's $110,000. Amazing. (Continued…)

Please clarify the terms of the order to stay away from SIUE. I would certainly hope that the specified 1500 refers to miles, not feet. This doesn't seem like much of a deterrent to me!

This is the most racist and ridiculus charge I have ever heard of. I know Tosin personally and he is in no way a threat as a terror. They found rap lyrics and painted him to be a threat of terror because his last name is Oduwule. (Continued…)

This kid belongs back in jail! Innocent until proven guilty, yes, but he'd certainly be capable of a lot of things while he's out on bail.

Let's be clear,
Olutosin had never touched the guns. He was purchasing from a distributor, who would ship them to a distributor, and they would ship to the third party purchaser. (Continued…)
