High-speed rail to quicken trip home for students
A high-speed rail will replace the current Amtrak rail from St. Louis to Chicago, according to Rick Harnish, executive director of the Midwest High Speed Rail Association. The power outages that blackened SIUE during the past month should no longer be a problem. According to Ameren spokeswoman Victoria Busch, Ameren identified the problem triggering the outages as moisture build-up in the switchgear. Cheryl Heard, assistant director of Student Organizational development and long-time faculty member, was recognized for her achievements outside of the SIUE campus by the St. Louis Urban League March 8.
