SIUE Police report decline in number of vehicle burglaries

Only 33 vehicle burglaries reported so far this year, 51 less than October 2007
The amount of motor vehicle burglaries at SIUE has decreased significantly in 2008, according to SIUE Police records, with only 33 motor vehicle burglaries reported so far this year, compared with 84 burglaries at the same time in 2007. SIUE's central fire alarm receiving unit located at SIUE Police is not working as of Wednesday night, according to SIUE Police Chief Gina Hays, although all university buildings do have a functioning fire alarm system. Appointment for new senator set for Friday Student Senate meeting

Student Government will look to round out its Senate at Friday's bi-weekly meeting. The agenda includes a presidential appointment for a new senator, as well as other personnel appointments within Student Government committees.
