SIUE's new chancellor to arrive this week

A death in the family delayed Chancellor Vaughn Vandegrift's expected July 1 arrival, but when he does take the reins Friday, he'll be living in Cougar Village. Web Radio changes format

SIUE's Web Radio has switched its format to all '80s music. The change, which took effect Thursday, was due to low audience ratings. Before the change, Web Radio disc jockeys played country, rap, hip-hop and rock. Arboretum receives recognition

SIUE's Myer Arboretum has been designated a Shaws Garden East site by the Missouri Botanical Garden. Move-in crew needed

University Housing is asking faculty and staff to join approximately 250 student volunteers with Move-In Day 2004. On Aug. 20, nearly 3,000 students will move into the three residence halls and Cougar Village for the upcoming school year. Youngsters will fiddle at SIUE Suzuki camp

The SIUE String Development Program is sponsoring a string camp for children ages 5 through 14 who play violin, viola and cello. Stray cats on campus

A biology professor is doing her part to find homes for strays on campus. "Two weeks ago, a litter of kittens was found near the Science and Dunham buildings," biology professor Sara Sawyer said. Gypsy opens Thursday

The second Summer Showbiz musical, "Gypsy," opens Thursday in Dunham Hall Theater. SIUE students enrolled in summer classes can get free tickets to the show, and faculty and staff get a $3 discount.
